Sectors

Investment opportunities in eight strategic sectors of the Venezuelan economy

We prepare sale and capital-raising transactions in each of them. Request an anonymous summary of opportunities in the sectors that interest you. If you would like to know more, we share the details under a confidentiality agreement.

Oil & Gas

A sector now open to private capital

The Hydrocarbons Law of January 2026 opened the way for private operators to take part in oil operations alongside PDVSA and to settle disputes through international arbitration.

That widens the field of who can buy and operate assets in the sector. We advise owners of oil assets and oilfield service companies in their dealings with buyers and partners who set a higher bar: verifiable information, sanctions compliance and a clear legal structure.

Asset types

  • Oilfield service and maintenance companies
  • Equipment, fleets and operating bases
  • Storage and logistics infrastructure
  • Equity stakes in sector companies

Legal framework

Every transaction is reviewed against the US sanctions regime (OFAC) and the licences in force.

Hospitality & Tourism

More than 2,700 km of coastline and a tourism industry to rebuild

Venezuela has a Caribbean coastline, islands such as Los Roques and Margarita, the Andes and national parks such as Canaima. Much of the hotel infrastructure is in place and operating, but it has seen little investment for more than a decade.

Operating hotels, inns and resorts are looking for a buyer or a capital partner to renovate, just as the country's air connectivity is picking up strongly.

Asset types

  • City and beach hotels
  • Inns and boutique hotels
  • Resorts and tourism developments
  • Land suited to tourism

Industrial

Installed capacity running at half speed

Venezuelan industry is concentrated along the Valencia-Maracay corridor, in Barquisimeto and in the Guayana region. Many plants still have their equipment, trained staff and permits, but produce well below capacity.

For anyone who wants to produce in Venezuela or export to the Caribbean, buying an existing plant or partnering with its owner saves time and reduces risk.

Asset types

  • Manufacturing plants
  • Industrial buildings and warehouses
  • Logistics and storage assets
  • Operating industrial companies

Agribusiness

Land, water and infrastructure waiting for capital

Venezuela has first-rate farmland in the llanos, south of Lake Maracaibo and in the Andes. Coffee, cocoa and cattle have an export tradition that predates oil.

Productive farms, processing plants and distilleries are available today at prices that reflect years of underinvestment rather than what the land can produce.

Asset types

  • Crop and cattle farms
  • Food processing plants
  • Distilleries and export agribusiness
  • Cold chain and storage

Real Estate

Income-producing assets, below replacement cost

Caracas, Valencia, Maracaibo and Barquisimeto have tenanted office towers, retail units and shopping centres in established commercial corridors.

Many now trade below what it would cost to build them. With the economy growing, demand for offices, retail space and housing is starting to recover in the main cities.

Asset types

  • Office buildings and floors
  • Retail units and shopping centres
  • Urban land
  • Residential developments

Healthcare

A private network that kept working

Private clinics and laboratories kept operating through the hardest years and today serve demand that the public system is unable to meet.

Many of their owners are looking for a capital partner to upgrade equipment, expand capacity or prepare an orderly sale.

Asset types

  • Clinics and medical centres
  • Clinical laboratories
  • Diagnostic imaging centres
  • Pharmaceutical and medical supply distributors

Mining

Major reserves at an early stage

South of the Orinoco, in the Guayana region, lie some of Latin America's largest iron ore and bauxite reserves, with river ports and transport infrastructure already built.

The Organic Mining Law of April 2026 sets a new framework for concessions. We know the legal, technical and environmental requirements each investment involves, and we support the process on all of those fronts.

Asset types

  • Concessions with geological studies
  • Camp and transport infrastructure
  • Mineral processing plants
  • Mining service companies

Legal framework

Every concession is reviewed against the 2026 Organic Mining Law and the environmental permits in force.

Technology

Companies that grew with the country's digitalisation

In recent years Venezuela has been quick to adopt digital payments, e-commerce and fibre broadband. Software firms, technology service companies and private internet providers have grown around that demand.

That growth has produced companies with recurring revenue and skilled local teams that need few physical assets to operate. To keep growing, several are now looking for an equity partner or a strategic buyer.

Asset types

  • Software and digital services companies
  • Internet and telecoms providers
  • Technology services for businesses
  • Stakes in growing companies

Legal framework

Telecoms operators need a licence from CONATEL, the sector regulator, and we check that it is current in every transaction.
